KS-Standard Silicone Insulation Tubes
The Korea Electro-technical Code (KEC) and electrical equipment technical standards require color coding for electrical equipment newly installed or expanded after January 1, 2021. Cables with black-colored sheathing must be marked at the termination with a KS-certified item whose color stays semi-permanent, to prevent miswiring.

SYSTEM

250°C Heat-Resistant Silicone Insulation

Keeps insulation intact without melting or toxic gas

Insulation tubes at electrical connections are directly exposed to heat and arcing. EYECAP®-SIT transparent flame-retardant silicone has a heat resistance of 250°C — it doesn't melt even at high temperatures, keeping its shape and insulation while only charring, with no secondary fire from melting. Flame-retardant PVC, by contrast, emits toxic gas and melts/ignites at 120°C. Even in the UL224 VW-1 flame test, silicone produces a small flame that self-extinguishes the moment the ignition source is removed, leaving only non-toxic white smoke. It's an eco-friendly material that meets CE and REACH, with arc resistance more than 10 times that of flame-retardant PVC.

Insulation performance is preserved without melting or deforming above 250°C.

No Ignition Under Heat or Arcing

Stays non-flammable even when the connection is exposed to high heat and arcing.

Visual Heat Detection via Color Change

A color change in the insulation cap lets you visually check for abnormal heat.

KS IEC · UL (AWG) Compliant

Follows the KS C 2103 standard, applicable to both KS IEC and UL (AWG) cable specifications.

CE · REACH Eco-Friendly Material

Made of eco-friendly silicone that meets CE and REACH requirements.

10x the Arc Resistance of PVC

Arc resistance performance is more than 10 times better than flame-retardant PVC.

SYSTEM

Thermochromic

Catch abnormal heat early through color

Past a set temperature, the insulation cap turns white, letting you visually check for abnormal heat at the connection without any measuring equipment — so you can act before degradation turns into fire. There are two types: reversible, which returns to its original color once it cools, and irreversible, which stays changed once triggered, preserving a record of past overheating.

Check heat status through a color that changes with temperature, and — depending on whether it's reversible or irreversible — tell restoration after cooling apart from a record of past overheating.

Reversible

Turns white as temperature rises, and returns to its original color as temperature falls.

Irreversible

Once past the threshold temperature, the change to white stays, so past overheating can be confirmed even after it cools down.

Change Over Temperature

Change Over Temperature

Type 55

Color-change temperature 53–62°C

Type 70

Color-change temperature 58–70°C

Returns to its original color once temperature falls.
Type 55

Color-change 47–60°C / irreversible threshold 60°C

Type 70

Color-change 51–74°C / irreversible threshold 80°C

Once past the threshold temperature, the irreversible change appears. Below the threshold, it still restores to its original color on cooling.

Visual Heat Check

A color change lets you visually check the connection's heat status.

Color Restores After Cooling

The reversible type returns to its original color as temperature falls, letting you track status as it changes.

Past Heat History Check

The irreversible type keeps its changed color once past the threshold, letting you confirm a record of past overheating.
